Mario Romero,
a native to our valley, was born in 1955 into a humble
home in the West Valley community of Cashion. Strict,
but loving parents, with a strong sense of family who
considered hard work a privilege, not an obligation, gave
Mario his strong work ethic. He and his siblings worked
side-by-side, along with their parents, as migrant farm
workers. They followed the seasonal crops across the west
and northwest regions of the country, always looking forward
to the return home. Mario graduated in 1973 from Tolleson
High and within the same year began working for American
Express. The following fourteen years there gave Mario
a broad perspective of education, training, and employee
relations, while rewarding him with promotions and increased
responsibilities. While still working a full-time position
there, and after a recent home purchase, Mario became
interested in the real estate market. His curiosity took
him to real estate school, and after obtaining his license,
he began working at that part-time in 1983. The next four
years, working both jobs, Mario made the difficult decision
to become a full-time Realtor. He left American Express,
saying goodbye to a long-time career and has, since then,
always looked ahead with a great respect for his past.
He welcomed the challenge of his new, not so stable career,
and within the next ten years began building the foundation
of what is now his own real estate group; The Mario Romero
Team. The most important thing he learned from his parents
was not knowing what he couldn't do meant he had to preconceived
